Well, it’s January in a New Year so it’s time to focus on all the things we want to do or change! I generally shy away from NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS and focus on INTENTIONS because I feel like resolutions set us up for failure! I like to focus on THEMES and taking actions to improve different areas of my life. My good friend, Debbie Vinyard of Happy First, taught me to choose a Word of the Year! Ever since she’s gotten me hooked on this concept, I spend a lot of time trying to identify the word that will best capture my new year. So, I’ve finally decided on my word for 2019! It’s DAILY.

I’ve spent the past 25 years as a mother, the past 8 as a business owner and the last 3 as a Type 1 Diabetic. I’ve loved every single minute of being a mom but so much of the time just flew by…almost wasted. You know the saying “the days are long but the years are short”? As the mom of 4 (the youngest are twins), there were days that I’d meet myself coming and going. I feel like everyone’s lives are whizzing by so quickly that we aren’t enjoying them to the fullest. I’m always in motion. I love the chaos of a full house. The noise, the mess…it’s all good! But I’m at a point in life where I want to slow down (just a tad!) by enjoying every little detail, DAILY. So, in 2019, I commit to enjoying the little things in life, those moments that will be gone too soon, each and every day!
My daily choices will take me where I want to go in my business. Sharing the benefits with others daily, taking care of my skin daily, working with my team daily to help them grow. The compound effect of these small daily actions will create tidal wave of success. I will choose to invest in my business daily with intentional actions!
Life is too short and living with a chronic illness makes that all too real. This year, 2019, I will focus on my health on a daily basis. Making good food choices daily, exercising daily (even for a few minutes!) and drinking plenty of water each day will keep me at my healthiest best!
I will live with intention. I will be busy. That’s just my life. But, I am working on building in margins, some down time and learning to take a deep breath and to be present. More aware. Life is about choices and I choose to be joyful, mindful and present. Daily.
